At first, he commanded a tractor
then he squished things with steamrollers
now he controls the force and
wields a blue lightsaber
whatsoever your
occupation
I'll always
love you

Ah...the occupations of learning. Jeff was going to be chef Jeff; then it was actor and star; then it was lawyer and justice, then it was keeping the records straight and building businesses and so that's what he now does. The other tracked along finding formulas, for skating, for gaming, and now for security forces around the world. Funny about what kids become. Love the nonet. Thank you so much for writing and posting today. Gay
ReplyDeleteA touching & fun nonet...I enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteAnd the master of Haiku proves his salt with a lovely little nonet! Fantastic work on the form and the images created in my minds eye! Bravo!
ReplyDeleteA fun piece.. highlighting the pride one has in their children.
ReplyDeleteSomeday he'll be programming your VCR, or the 21st century equivalent, so you're right to ante up the respect.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment at my place. Greatly appreciated.
LOL... raised 3 boys. Sweet memories of the role play which went on before they grew up and settled into careers. My middle kid always wanted to be a garbageman. He'd wait an hour for ours to arrive so he could hand him a can of soda (or pop in some places of the world). I enjoyed your poem.
ReplyDeletea lightsaber is not a bad tool at all..we have several around the house...
